These new works are formed by an overlap of several layers of paper and paint that build the image. However, there is a secret behind them: these large paintings hide a series of drawings and sketches from the artist’s past that subtly mix between layers as they intertwine two temporal realities.

During the making process, layers of paper and paint are glued and then detached. By detaching and separating them, both elements reveal small details of those hidden images. Just as one gets close up to look through a crack or keyhole to see what is on the other side, a close examination of these two paintings reveal two realities: an apparent reality on the surface, and another reality that is submerged, hidden on the other side of the painting. Those with a curious eye who get close enough to the work may glimpse the many stories that lie underneath these "new" surfaces, revealing a past that places us inside of the timeline of the artist.

These pieces don’t only work as images in and of themselves, but they also serve as containers for other images. The main objective of these paintings is to create a pictorial structure in which the two temporal realities coexist, as if the painting were a time capsule.
