Generaciones has become a crucial reference point for the dissemination of emerging art, both nationally and across Europe. It offers a valuable overview of contemporary creation in our country. This multidisciplinary exhibition showcases a broad spectrum of young Spanish artists. Their works reflect the concerns and anxieties that motivate them, mirroring the complexities of today’s world.
The artists use various media and techniques, including painting, drawing, photography, comics, video installations, sound installations, and traditional installations. Many of the artists in Generación 2013 emphasize concepts such as emptiness, ruin, loss, and disappearance in their projects. This approach resonates with current events and invites viewers to engage with their work in multiple ways, allowing for diverse interpretations.
EIGHT EXTRAORDINARY SPATIAL QUESTIONS
Eight Spatially Extraordinary Questions is set in the Tabacalera building, which has a rich history tied to a particular economic, political, and social context. This diverse location serves as the ideal setting for the eight site-specific artistic interventions created by the artists in the exhibition, with each intervention placed in its own distinct space.
