The program was created to showcase and promote the work of emerging artists to the public, specialized critics, and professionals in the art industry.
Generaciones has become a key reference point for the promotion of emerging art, both nationally and across Europe. It offers a valuable overview of contemporary creation in Spain. This multidisciplinary exhibition showcases a wide range of young Spanish artists and their works, which reflect their concerns and anxieties about today’s world.
The artists employ various media and techniques, including painting, drawing, photography, comics, video installations, sound installations, and traditional installations, to express their ideas. Many of the artists featured in Generación 2013 emphasize themes such as emptiness, ruin, loss, and disappearance in their projects. This straightforward and unembellished approach resonates with current events and invites multiple interpretations from viewers.
