Horizontal presents a joint project by artists Miquel Mont (Barcelona, 1963) and Guillermo Mora (Madrid, 1980). Both artists, hailing from different generations and currently residing in France and Spain, have garnered widespread acclaim for their exploration of the limits of the pictorial medium in diverse and innovative ways.
Mont and Mora share a mutual understanding of artistic intent, where an additional mental layer transforms and evolves within a physical realm. This creates a new possibility that revolves around painting as a backdrop, allowing for boundless exploration.
The overlapping nature of their work makes this joint exhibition particularly intriguing. Ideas and their outcomes will be present in an exploratory mode throughout the project, as their works engage in a dialogue that supports one another. This collaboration fosters a dimension that yields new results of mutual interest. Their process involves making and remaking, reflecting on the visible and invisible aspects of art, exploring the materiality and diversity of painting, questioning classical perspectives, and inviting viewers to engage in an immersive experience linked to the La Fragua exhibition space itself.

Proyectos de arte Caja Madrid
Many of the authors of Generación 2013 agree that in their respective projects—directly, without any artifice—concepts such as emptiness, ruin, loss, and disappearance are addressed; an approach that, in tune with current events in the world, is open to enrichment through multiple interpretations by viewers.
