Despintando Rojo is a site-specific painting installed in 2023 at the Colección del Museo Ruso in Málaga. The work consists of a large red square created through a system of overlapping papers fixed to the wall with staples, which are subsequently partially torn off. Through this dynamic action of overlapping and unveiling, a dialogue is established between the layers of paper and the wall. The torn papers reveal small details of the wall, emerging new graphics and a new way of comprehending painting, which is not only through its surface, but also through the act of removal.
